Three Phase (480 VAC) Center Drive Gearboxes (Pivots and Lateral Move Systems)
The Reinke Helical Center Drive Gearboxes use a good quality SAE 50W or SAE 20W-50 multi-viscosity engine oil; or ISO 460 or EP 460 Gear Oil. Change the oil after the first year of service and every three years thereafter. Fill Gearboxes so oil level reaches the threads of the Oil Fill Hole. Oil capacity is approximately one (1) U.S. Gallon. Do not overfill these Gearboxes! Overfilling may result in Seal damage. Before and after each irrigation season, remove the Drain Plug just long enough to drain any condensed water.
Single Phase (230 VAC) Center Drive Gearboxes (Pivot Systems Only)
The Reinke 80:1 Helical Center Drive Gearboxes are composed of a 40:1 Helical Gearbox coupled to a 2:1 Belt Reduction Enclosure. These 40:1 Gearboxes use a good quality SAE 50W or SAE 20W-50 multi-viscosity engine oil; or ISO 460 or EP 460 Gear Oil. Change the oil after the first year of service and every three years thereafter. Fill Gearboxes so oil level reaches the threads of the Oil Fill Hole. Oil capacity is approximately one (1) U.S. Gallon. Do not overfill these Gearboxes! Overfilling may result in Seal damage. Before and after each irrigation season, remove the Drain Plug just long enough to drain any condensed water.
Before each watering season, remove the Inspection Cover from the 2:1 Belt Reduction Enclosure and check Drive Belt Tension. It should only be tightened enough to remove the Drive Belt Slack. Contact your Reinke Dealer if Drive Belt is too loose or too tight. Do not attempt to tighten or loosen drive belt!!! Your Reinke Dealer has the proper specifications and instructions for this process.
